Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan

Today in Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan: Partly sunny, with a high near 54. Northwest wind around 16 mph.

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, the daffodils are still blooming, the tiny bright green leaves on the trees are welcoming springtime, the squirrels are having the time of their lives running through the treetops, it's a smorgasboard of treenuts up there. Spring time is upon us, Life is good!

Here's what's happening in Saugatuck and Douglas.

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, here's some suggestions for you to do today. Wander over the Lakeview Lanes in Douglas, they have 8 lanes. You can hit the Antique Mall and see all you grandparents old stuff. Visit the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, their current exhibition is Artfully Adorned: the Japanese Kimono, from painting and stenciling to embroidery and brocade, see close-up these remarkable works of fashion that are also breathtaking works of art. Then you can head to the The Holland Museum it's located at 31 W. 10th Street in downtown Holland, an awesome place to spend a few Hours! The current exhibit is ARCHIPELAGO: Indigenous Art of Indonesia & Melanesia.

Looking for something to do Tonight, here's a couple of suggestions...

A SAKE TASTING WORKSHOP W/JIM WARREN-
Workshop for adults 7-9 PM at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, 400 Culver St. Saugatuck. Instructor Jim Warren shares the history of Japan's famous fermented rice alcohol and discusses how to drink - and evalutate - sake. THE OPENING NIGHT OF THE FANTASTIC MUSICAL
"ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE"-
Starring Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys Band and Jackie Carpenter of the Red Barn Players. The story is about the friendship between Patsy Cline and Louise Seger. The play features over 20 Songs which Cline made famous. The Red Barn Theater is located at 3657 63rd St at Blue Star Highway just one quarter of a mile east of Exit 41 on I-196/US31. Take a long walk along the wide sandy beaches of Lake Michigan and smile at the greatness of the big pond.

Why not visit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful. The trees are just beginning to bud. Take a walk along the lakeshore,

Lunch suggestion..head over to Wally's Bar and Grill in Saugatuck, they have a really really good perch sandwich.
