Here's what's happening in Saugatuck and Douglas.

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, here's some suggestions for you to do today. You can hit the Antique Mall and see all you grandparents old stuff, wander over the Lakeside Lanes in Douglas, they have 8 lanes. Visit the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, their current exhibition is Artfully Adorned: the Japanese Kimono, from painting and stenciling to embroidery and brocade, see close-up these remarkable works of fashion that are also breathtaking works of art. Then you can head to the The Holland Museum it's located at 31 W. 10th Street in downtown Holland, an awesome place to spend a few Hours! The current exhibit is ARCHIPELAGO: Indigenous Art of Indonesia & Melanesia.

Cowboy Junkies
Thursday, March 18, 8 pm at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, 400 Culver Street, Saugatuck. Indie hipsters fill the SCA's intimate theatre with their soulful, rocking hits including Sweet Jane, Misguided Angel, and A Common Disaster. Take a long walk along the beach and wonder at smile at the greatness of the big pond, we have a resident Bald Eagle and it's pretty easy to spot if you take a hike along the lake, he or she does fly by's. There are some winter birds on the water too, such as Greater and Lesser Scaup, Common Goldeneye and Oldsquaws, which inhabit Lake Michigan’s near and offshore waters.

Bed and Breakfast and Brewery
Looking for a weekend getaway involving brewing your own batch of beer? Sherwood Forest is offering a unique weekend package that includes a two-night stay plus access to Saugatuck Brewing Company's brew-on-site facilities. SBC will provide the recipes, from light to dark, over 70 different recipes are available. Summer Wheat to Red Ales to rich Porters. They'll also provide the ingredients and professional brewing equipment as well as the expertise to take you through the brewing process. You'll brew at least 11 gallons of beer (sixty 22oz. bottles). If 11 gallons of beer is more than you need, bring a friend or two and split the batch. It takes 3-4 hours to brew your batch and you return in two weeks to bottle and sample your beer, which takes about 2 hours or you can have them bottle it and pick it up (an extra $20). You can even design your own labels using Microsoft Word (for an extra $27). The cost of Bed and Breakfast and Brewery runs from $512 to $695 depending on the time of year and the room.
