Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, here's some suggestions for you to do today. You can hit the Antique Mall and see all you grandparents old stuff, wander over the Lakeside Lanes in Douglas, they have 8 lanes. Visit the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, their current exhibition is Artfully Adorned: the Japanese Kimono, from painting and stenciling to embroidery and brocade, see close-up these remarkable works of fashion that are also breathtaking works of art. Then you can head to the The Holland Museum it's located at 31 W. 10th Street in downtown Holland, an awesome place to spend a few Hours! The current exhibit is ARCHIPELAGO: Indigenous Art of Indonesia & Melanesia.

Movie
Sullivan's Travels, a 1942 Romance 90 minutes starring Dave Burdick who plays a Hollywood director, tired of churning out comedies, he decides to write a serious, socially responsible film about human suffering. After his producers point out that he knows nothing of hardship, he hits the road as a hobo. On his journey he finds the lovely Veronica Lake and more trouble than he ever dreamed of. Film begins at 6:30 PM at The Saugatuck Brewing Co., 2948 Blue Star Hwy., Saugatuck. Located 1 ½ miles North off Exit 36 on US 31/I-196. Suggested Donation $5. FREE popcorn from CNJ Popcorn Co. Take a long walk along the beach and wonder at smile at the greatness of the big pond, we have a resident Bald Eagle and it's pretty easy to spot if you take a hike along the lake, he or she does fly by's. There are some winter birds on the water too, such as Greater and Lesser Scaup, Common Goldeneye and Oldsquaws, which inhabit Lake Michigan’s near and offshore waters.

Thursday for lunch, head over to The Butler in Saugatuck, they have a great view of the water and a really friendly staff.
