Good Morning Douglas and Saugatuck, Michigan.

It's Columbus Day today and our nation is celebrating the fact that an Italian from Genoa (great salami), who sailed for the Spanish from Castilo (love Paella) set foot on our continent 517 years ago. Thanks for the day off Christopher.

Today in West Michigan! A 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. Southeast wind around 6 mph.

Here at Sherwood Forest Bed and Breakfast, not much happening, great day to laze around and soak in some great autumn air.

Round up the usual suspects
Wander through your favorite pumpkin patch, Halloween is just around the corner.

Why not hit the Saugatuck Dunes State Park and take a long walk through the woods, it will be just beautiful. The leaves are sporting some beautiful colors yo won't want to miss.

U-Pick
If you don't mind pickin apples in the rain or if it lets up for a moment, Saturday should be clear, head to Crane's Orchards, just one of West Michigan's U-Pick Apple Orchards (they might have some peaches left), is less than 7 miles from our front door. They have 14 different varieties, such as Gala, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, Cortland, Golden Supreme, Jonagold, Empire, Jonathans, Ida Reds, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Braeburn. For more info, call 269-561-8651

Breakfast this morning is Baked Blueberry Pancakes, fresh fruit salad and banana bran muffins. Of course Italian Espresso organic coffee (yes-free trade too).
